Paradise Found

Paradise Found

“It’ll do you good to relax and get away from it all,” they’d said.

What they didn’t understand was ‘it all’ was all that was keeping me together.

Even strong women stumble when the rug is pulled out from under them. Two weeks alone with my thoughts—and an unlimited drinks package—might kill me.

Being the forlorn divorcee in a tropical resort sounded about as far from paradise as I could imagine. But knowing that Chuck would be footing half the bill after he’d traded me in for a newer model was reason enough to take the trip.

Good thing the persuasive dive shop owner offered the perfect distraction when he convinced me to try scuba diving again. I hadn’t done it—or most anything else that I loved and Chuck didn’t—since my honeymoon.

And, added bonus, Gavin was a Caribbean Irish god. Scuba diving wasn’t the only thing he helped me rediscover.

Maybe a vacation rebound was just what I needed—if it didn’t break my already fractured heart.
