Paradise Found

Being the token divorcee at a tropical resort sounded about as far from paradise as I could imagine. But knowing that my ex would be footing half the bill after he’d traded me in for a newer model was reason enough to take the trip.

“It’ll do you good to relax and get away from it all,” my friends had said. But “it all” was all that was keeping me together. Even strong women stumble when the rug is pulled out from under them. Two weeks alone with my thoughts—and an unlimited drinks package—might kill me.

Then I met Gavin–the Caribbean Irish god who convinced me to try scuba diving again. The persuasive dive shop owner offered the perfect distraction. I hadn’t done it—or most anything else that I loved and my ex didn’t—since my honeymoon. But scuba wasn’t the only thing Gavin helped me rediscover. Maybe a vacation rebound was just what I needed—if it didn’t break my already fractured heart.
